Las nominaciones a los premios Oscar 2022 ya están aquí. The Power of the Dog lidera la carrera con 12 nominaciones —su directora, Jane Campion, es la primera mujer en ser nominada dos veces a Mejor Director: ya logró la postulación con la célebre El piano.

Dune y Belfast le siguen,  con 10 y 7 nominaciones, respectivamente.

Los principales éxitos de taquilla de este año como Spider-Man: No Way Home y No Time to Die también recibieron algunas nominaciones de la Academia. 

Para mejores actores y actrices, Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog) y Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter) recibieron nominaciones.

Para Mejor Película hay 10 nominaciones. The Power of the Dog, de Netflix, y la británica Belfast son dos grandes candidatas —pues pueblan varias otras categorías.  De Netflix también, Don’t Look Up de Adam McKay, fue nominada en esta categoría, considerada por algunos como la más importante de todas.Dune también está en la lista, aunque su director, Denis Villeneuve, quedó fuera de las selecciones de Mejor Director.

Troy Kotsur (de CODA, que también compite como Mejor Película) se convirtió en el segundo actor sordo en ser nominado para un Oscar. Drive My Car ha cobrado velocidad en esta temporada de premios. Ha conseguido algunas nominaciones. Su director, Ryusuke Hamaguchi, es parte de la lista corta del que saldrá el Mejor Director según la Academia. 

Muchos también estarán encantados de ver a Kristen Stewart en la categoría de Mejor Actriz por su papel de la Princesa Diana en Spencer.

La 94.º entrega anual de los Premios de la Academia se llevará a cabo el 27 de marzo en el Dolby Theatre de Hollywood y, será la primera vez desde el 2018, que tendrán un presentador. La ceremonia  será televisada por ABC.
